Innovating in Material Joining: The Heart of Stir4Steel
Stir4Steel is a European initiative aiming to revolutionize the automotive industry through Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technology, optimizing the weight and performance of car components by welding dissimilar materials such as Steel-Aluminum. This project, in addition to Aritex, brings together six partners from four EU countries: Germany (HZG), Italy (CRF), Austria (STIRTEC, i2m), and Spain (SIDENOR), with the goal of reducing energy consumption and thus promoting eco-friendly mobility on roads.
This collaborative effort aims not only to achieve the technical objectives of the project but also to facilitate the market adoption of the proposed solutions by combining research capabilities and industrial expertise, as well as developing efficient and environmental-friendly welding methodologies.
Our Role in Stir4Steel
Our contribution to the project focuses on the industrialization of the technologies developed within the project and the study of their feasibility. Through our more than 60 years of experience and our global presence, we are implementing solutions that enhance the precision, efficiency, and sustainability of manufacturing processes. Our focus is not only on the technology itself but also on how it can be applied to address current industry challenges, such as reducing the carbon footprint and promoting green mobility.
