Airbus had the objective of improving the quality of its inspections and assemblies, seeking to minimise errors and boost operator efficiency through digitisation solutions. The main challenge of the project lay in the inherent complexity of the customer’s inspection and manufacturing processes. It was imperative to ensure the absolute integrity of this data.
To meet this challenge, we implemented a work order management system and digitised the corresponding instructions. In addition, we developed a line monitoring system, providing web-based access to information via an HMI interface.
This valuable information was integrated into the ERP to keep it up to date with what was happening on the shop floor.

Challenge to be solved
Airbus needed to minimise errors and improve operator efficiency. To do this, it needed to eliminate paper-based quality inspection and assembly instructions for thousands of manual steps.
To do this, it needed to adopt a digital approach to its complex manufacturing processes and reduce its reliance on paper instructions.
The customer’s requirement was for end-to-end technologies that could unify connectivity with machinery and enable real-time monitoring of KPIs and OEE.
AIRBUS had as a requirement the use of end-to-end technologies that could unify connectivity with machinery and enable real-time monitoring of KPIs and OEE.
Proposed solution
To solve this challenge, some concrete points were developed that were very useful to improve the quality of the instructions. The steps carried out were the following:
- Implementation and configuration of a line monitoring system.
- Implementation of a Work Order and Work Instruction Management System.
- Configuration of the import of orders and BOMs from SAP.
- Creation of Web Interfaces and HMIs.
- Obtaining KPIs and OEE.
Impact
- Reduced errors and rework.
- Improved quality and efficiency.
- Reduced assembly time and improved workflows.
- Achieved a continuous improvement system based on real and unambiguous data.
- Optimised compliance processes through integration with SAP.

Aritex Atlantic: three years of expansion in France
Since its beginnings in 1961, Aritex has been a byword for innovation and progress in industrial engineering. Founded by the Arias and Teixidó families, the company has evolved over more than six decades from the creation of tools for the automotive industry to the development of turnkey systems for industrial sectors worldwide. In 2022, its international expansion took a key step forward with the opening of Aritex Atlantic in Nantes, France, a strategic location close to leading aeronautical plants, which has consolidated the group’s position in the French market.
We spoke with Carlos Yus, Programme Manager at Aritex Atlantic, who shared his insights on how he leads the subsidiary, tackles technical challenges and coordinates strategic projects for leading clients in the sector.
How Aritex and SEAT/CUPRA are reinventing on-site learning thanks to augmented reality
Innovation is a way of life in large industrial plants. SEAT/CUPRA have taken this approach and turned it into a method where the company opts for exploring technologies that can transform day-to-day tasks into more efficient processes.

You may think that concluding an installation or commissioning a turnkey project means that the job is over. You may even think that, at this point, the teams that designed and implemented the technological solutions to successfully overcome the client’s production challenges will pack their bags and say goodbye. Nothing could be further from the truth.
